Innevamento artificiale in caso di ritardi delle nevicate.I maestri delle scuole sci sono a disposizione e le baite con bar e ristoranti sempre pronte al ristoro, vicino alle piste. Passeggiate a cavallo sulla neve, ciaspole, trekking, mountain-bike, snow-board, sono solo alcune delle attività invernali per gli ospiti. Ancora una giocata al Golf Club Asiago (Maggio-Ottobre: Gare e Tornei Nazionali e Intenazionali), volo a vela, parapendio, tiro con l’arco, free-climbing all’aperto e indoor, sci d’erba, arti marziali, nuoto, tennis e altri sport.

SPORTS

The geography of the area has permitted the development of over 500 kilometres of trails for cross-country skiing. Descent skiing is also very popular, and local lifts have created numerous possibilities, with variously difficult trails and descents, which are perfectly integrated with the lifts. Artificial snow guarantees a white surface even if the snow happens to come late. The Masters at the Ski Schools on the Plateau are available and ski resorts with bars and restaurants are always ready to accommodate skiers returning from the slopes. There are horse treks on the snow, trekking, mountain-bike trails, snowboard, ice-skating. These are just a few of the winter activities that, along with skiing, can occupy vacationers. During the remaining months of the year, it is possible to go grass skiing, mountainbike, practice martial arts, tennis and other classical sports activities.

Lo stadio del ghiaccio coperto, aperto 11 mesi, in agosto ospiterà lo spettacolo di pattinaggio artistico “Stars on Ice”.

ICE SKATING Another traditional sport on the plateau.In Asiago there is the covered ice stadium, which is open 11 months a year and will host “Stars on Ice”, artistic skating show. In the town of Gallio, at Busa Fonda, there is an ice rink with an olympic ring, which is used for high-speed ice-skating events.

HOCKEY SU GHIACCIO Il campionato si apre ad Ottobre; una delle squadre principali a livello nazionale è quella di Asiago, Campione d’Italia nella stagione 2000/2001.

PASSEGGIATE ED ESCURSIONI Le possibilità di gite, escursioni e passeggiate sono infinite. Fortilizi, mulattiere, trincee: tutti segni visibili della I Guerra Mondiale. Il forte più facilmente raggiungibile è l’Interrotto a Camporovere. Sul Monte Verena vi sono i resti del forte dal quale venne sparata la prima cannonata italiana. Vi si può accedere per mezzo di una seggiovia che parte dal Rifugio Verenetta. Dalla cima del Monte Cengio si prosegue fino al Forte di Punta Corbin. Il più conosciuto campo di battaglia è quello del Monte Ortigara. Altro teatro delle operazioni militari fu il Monte Fior. Tutelati dalla “Commonwealth War Graves Commission” sull’Altopiano ci sono cinque Cimiteri Inglesi: Barenthal, Granezza, Cavalletto, Magnaboschi, Boscon. Per un tuffo nella leggenda, in Rotzo si trova l’Altar Knotto, per gli antichi cimbri sede di divinità. Dal Sasso, frazione di Asiago, attraverso la famosa Calà (antica via di comunicazione per il commercio del legname) percorrendo 4444 gradini si giunge a Valstagna.

EXCURSIONS AND OUTINGS The possibilities for excursions, outings and hiking are infinite. Fortalices, mule trails, trenches: all of the visible signs remaining from the First World War. The fort which is most easily reachable is the Interrotto in Camprovere. On Mount Verena there are the remains of the fort from which the first shot was fired from the Italian side. There is a ski-lift which visitors can take up to the fort, which starts from the Verenetta Refuge. From the summit of Mount Cengio, you can proceed to Fort Point Corbin. The most widely known battlefield is the one on Mount Ortigara. Another theatre of military operations was Mount Fior. There are five English Cemeteries on the Plateau of Asiago which are under the guardianship of the "Commonwealth War Graves Commission": Barenthal, Granezza, Cavalletto, Magnaboschi and Boscon. For a dip into the legends of the high plain of Asiago, in Rotzo there is the Altar Knotto, which is a seat of divinity for the ancient Cimbrains. One can also reach Valstagna and the Brenta River, descending 4,444 steps, from Sasso, which is a suburb of Asiago. This passage is known as the Calà, an ancient way of communication for the commerce of wood.

MOUNTAIN BIKE Asiago è uno dei luoghi che offre infinite possibilità di muoversi con la montain bike. Sfruttando le centinaia di chilometri di strade sterrate lasciateci in eredità dalla Grande Guerra si possono effettuare meravigliose escursioni anche di più giorni. La Regione Veneto ha stabilito che le mountain bike possono transitare lungo strade carrarecce e mulattiere ove vi è il divieto di transito per i veicoli a motore ma non possono avventurarsi lungo piste da sci, prati e pascoli, specie lungo sentieri predisposti solo al passaggio pedonale. MOUNTAIN BIKE Asiago is one of the places that offer an infinite number of possibilities to get around with a mountain bike. By taking advantage of the hundreds of kilometres of gravel roads inherited from World War I, there are some wonderful excursions, some of them lasting even several days. The cartways through the forests are also suitable for excursions through the woods. The Venetan Regional Government has established that mountain bikes may transit along the cartways and mule passages, which on the contrary are prohibited for motorised vehicles. Mountainbikes may not use ski trails, however, nor can they be used to transit across pastures and fields or trails that are marked exclusively for hiking. GOLF CLUB ASIAGO Ad Asiago, in località Meltar, ha avuto recente completamento il nuovo percorso a 18 buche (6.005 m.) del Golf Club Asiago. Inserito in uno splendido ambiente naturale è uno dei percorsi golfistici più tecnici d’Italia.

AEREOCLUB IN GITA NEI CIELI Asiago è una delle poche località turistiche di montagna dotata di scalo aereo. E’ una zona particolarmente felice per la pratica del volo a vela. Dal 1992 opera con un proprio CESSNA anche “l’Associazione Aerosportiva 7 Comuni Max Longhini” che mette a disposizione il proprio aereo a chi vuole fare voli turistici. AEREOCLUB AIR TOURS Asiago is one of the few mountain tourist localities which has an airport. It is an area that is highly appreciated for air sailing. Since 1992 the Aerosports Association of the 7 Cities has been operating with its own Cessna. Max Longhini has made his plane available for touristic flights over the Asiago plateau.
